point & shoot

While we were away!

Goldcoast!

Loved it!

Strange to be back home and straight back into routine.

Can't wait for next holiday, fingers crossed we save enough to get to Tassie in May before Tilds turns two and I have to pay for her to fly.

Yay for holidays!

Preparing

So, in preparation for tonight, for my flight, I am clearing out all my SD cards. I have way to many pictures and I really need to get off my backside and get them printed.

Here are a couple from the files.

Doll house fun at Nana's!!

Tomorrow we fly to Queensland so we had a pretty easy weekend, just chilled out at home and at Nana's.
It was nice to finally have some peace and quiet away from our busy schedule.

My Beautiful Girl....

Thought I'd share.
Can't sleep so I'm editing pictures.

This was taken yesterday.

She is getting so grown up.
She turns the big 2 on May 31st.
Already she is chucking massive tantrums.
This morning, it was because she didn't particularly feel like wheetbix, she decided to protest and throw herself on the ground and stomp about.
When she does have a little protest I can't help but have a giggle because she is so hilariously cute with the angry, disgruntled expressions she makes.
I love her so very much.

My sweet Tilds.

point & shoot

It's my little brothers birthday today. He isn't quite so little. It's his 19th.
We are going to Pancakes on the Rocks for dinner to celebrate!

Here is a picture I took of him and Tilds last night. He walked in and Tilds looked at him, handed him a pencil and asked him to "dwaaor", so he did.

Happy birthday little brother!

What a week!

The view from where I "slept" thursday night.

Helping mummy make the beds and get the coat hangers.

Just tricking! Actually jumping on the bed lol

Choc-chip muffins (more like cupcakes).. Yum

Milk and a muffin

It's been so weird getting back to normal.

I was fine on monday this week, not a hint of illness what so ever.

Tuesday morning I was feeling a bit off, but went to class only to leave and hour or so later cause it was getting worse.

Wednesday I finally went to the doctor, who gave me some meds to take and told me to keep my fluids up and rest.

Thursday I went to court with my friend so she could get the ADVO against her ex. She only got an interim order (lasts for a month). He is fighting it and denying everything. We got home at 2:30 pm, she dropped me off at Matt's (Matilda's dad) house because Matt has been helping out heaps with Tilda this last week. I went for a nap, and by the time I woke up I couldn't swallow so I took myself to hospital. I was kept overnight. Really bad case of tonsillitis. I hadn't eaten anything or had any fluids in about 48 hours so they hooked me up to fluids and antibiotics.

I was released friday morning feeling a lot better, but still not 100% so I took things easy.

Tilda was at Nan & Pop's house on saturday and home for saturday night. It's been so nice spending the last couple of days at home!

Today Tilds and I cleaned up, played outside, tossed the ball around, drew with chalk, baked muffins, ate grapes and just hung out and had fun, she is now having a nap.

Today is the best day I've had in what feels like such a long time.

If you are interested in our yummy muffin (cupcake) recipe..
here it is:

CHOC CHIP MUFFINS

What you need:

2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup NESTLÉ Dark CHOC BITS
(we only use half a cup or less, nothing better then a hyperactive toddler)
2 tablespoons melted margarine
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla

How you do it:

Preheat oven to 180ºC.
Line 12 muffin pans with paper muffin cases.
Sift flour into bowl, stir in sugar and choc bits.
Stir in combined remaining ingredients, mix well. Spoon mixture evenly into muffin pans.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked. Cool on wire rack.
Allow refrigeration time.

Easy as

Toddler proof!

point & shoot

Me on the left, Billy on the right.
My little brother and I.
My quilt, All wrapped up.
Finished quilt.

Well, It's a bit late... But here is my point and shoot from the weekend!

The first two pics are getting ready to march in the Mardi Gras Parade. It was such an amazing experience. We were marching for over an hour and it only felt like 20 minutes. The atmosphere was electric. It was definitely a memorable experience and I am glad I finally got to do it.

The next two pics is the 2nd quilt I finished friday night for the baby shower I went to on Sunday. It turned out more fabulous then what I thought it would and was a massive hit at the party.

The last two pics are from the baby shower I went to on Sunday. The baby shower was a pretty average event, but she got some pretty awesome gifts (including my awesome quilt that I made her lol).

That was my weekend... and if you haven't already, you can join in over @  Fat mum slim

Relief

Last sunday, a week ago, I got a somewhat hysterical phonecall off a very close friend of mine. Her partner, the man who loved her, a bouncer, a trained weapon, had hit her, not just once either... In front of his kids.

I pleaded with her to leave the house, to come stay with me for the night. She didn't. She stayed the week out, and I tried my hardest to not go over and drag her out myself. Just the thought of her hurting made me so upset I felt sick.

Friday night she called me to say she had left and taken out an AVO on him. Relief is an understatement.

We met up on saturday morning. I took her to the shops so she could open up new bank accounts. He had emptied out the joint account when she left. She showed me the marks he had left on her, all up her arms and across her back. She told me it had been going on for a while. That she felt free now.

She has been my closest friend for many years now. I always had a feeling that something was going on even though she never said anything. I'm glad she had gotten out of it.

She now has a long road ahead of her, and I hope her amazing strength continues.

(I also hope the police find him and charge him soon because at the moment his family are hiding him, and no one, not even their ex-mutual friends know where he is).

Whoopsi daisy!

Well, Tilds gave herself a black eye today. She didn't get a nap at daycare so this arvo at Nana's (Matt's house) she was in that over-tired kind of hyper... So she was jumping around being silly and bam! She whacked her head on the side of the futon (metal arm rests) and that was it, instant black eye.
She was good though, she had a cry for about a minute and then got distracted with her car.
We really need to change daycare places. Bossy toddler is still with Tilds. When I get a free day (hopefully tomorrow morning) I'll hunt around for a good place to take her.

On a positive note, I have my "pamper pack" appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited, I got the gift voucher for it for christmas so it's well overdue. I get a facial, massage, eyebrow wax and my eyelashes coloured. It's good timing because I'm performing in the Mardi Gra parade this saturday! I also have my cousins baby shower on sunday. My weekend is so busy!

Agghhhh!

I'm so glad this day is coming to a close, it's been so stressful.
To make a long story short.. School was awfully boring and just seemed to drag on, and then I picked Tilds up and my landlord who is also Tildas carer informed me that my rent is going up. I'm struggling to make ends meet as is.
I'm making the most of my evening though. I'm kicking my feet up with a lovely (fake packet stick) cappuccino and watching Rafters before I finish my assessment.
It's nice to forget all my problems, If only for a little while.
